MEET THE OWNERS
Rudy & Robyn Chavez - Owners
Rudy Chavez is from Heber, AZ. A small community in Northern Arizona, where he grew up hunting, camping. and enjoying anything pertaining to the outdoors.
Rudy has dedicated his life to his family, his country, serving others and God. He served with the Sheriff’s Department and the United States Army, with part of that being deployed overseas. During which he received multiple awards and the Purple Heart, twice.
After leaving the military, Rudy began his career with Intermountain Healthcare, while starting R&R Tactical, LLC at the same time.
Rudy’s passion for helping others has continued as by becoming the Commander of The American Legion Post 111, an Ambassador for Operation Pay it Forward, dedicating time to the Fisher House by cleaning and serving meals for Veterans and their families. By being involved with these organizations, it has given him more resources to continue helping as many military and Law Enforcement individuals as possible. From offering them employment with R&R Tactical, helping them with education, getting their benefits, housing, financially, as well as spirituality.
Rudy’s dedication to helping others has become contagious. Over the past 5 years, his company, R&R Tactical, LLC and the staff has helped the community by providing resources to cover medical expenses, put food on the table, make house payments, recover from the loss of loved ones, a home lost in a fire, resources for vehicle repairs, Thanksgiving/Christmas meals, Christmas presents, and so much more.
In April 2023, Rudy, Robyn and R&R Tactical were presented with Saratoga Springs, 2022 Mayor’s Award, that was presented in 2023 for Small Business of the Year, Most Contributions Given to the Community and Community Service.
Most recently, Rudy was presented The Congressional Recognition Award by Congressman Burgess Owens for Recognition of Service to our Country, Small Business of The Year and Service to the Community, and Community Service.
When Rudy is asked, what is your purpose in life? He stated “I want to make my wife and children proud. I want to help as many people as I can and let them know they are not alone."
Born and raised in Richfield, Utah, Robyn Chavez often talks about her 'backyard adventures’ exploring the mountains and valleys around her. She spent her time as a child on family campouts, hunting/fishing trips, or just going on random rides with her family. It was at this time, her love of photography and nature bloomed.
As she grew older, her love for both never diminished. She is self taught and has studied all she could in regards to design, photography, and editing as she continued to enjoy the outdoors, and everything that came along with it. She excelled to the point where she was able to start her own photography business.
Since starting R&R Tactical with Rudy, she has explored photography and design even more. She enjoys taking her knowledge and coming up with new designs for apparel, social media graphics, website graphics, among other tasks. Christmas of 2022, Rudy bought her a screen printing station so that she could expand on creating an apparel business. She has enjoyed learning how to use it.
Robyn has helped successfully set up and help grow a few FRG’s (Family Readiness Group) while Rudy was in the military. She was recognized by 10th Mountain and 101st Airborne for her work. She loved being able to assist families when their loved ones deployed as well as setting up fundraisers and events for the Soldiers and their families.
She has helped set up raffles to help local families with funerals and medical bills, as well as other programs to raise money. She was instrumental in setting up a successful Angel Tree to support families during Christmas.
She believes that "With Family, anything is possible”. Her family is her driving force in all she does.
Rudy and Robyn met while Rudy was in the military, stationed in New York. They spent some time living back East, but the West is where their hearts were. They eventually made their way back to Utah. They were determined to make a life where they could camp and enjoy the outdoors. With the knowledge and experience these two have combined, they were able to build R&R Tactical Design, LLC. They have the determination, passion and drive to bring their customers great quality products, prices and information, topped off with excellent customer service.
MEET THE TEAM
Robert & Melissa Patterson - Partners
Robert comes to us from Boston, MA. After serving in the U.S. Army, 10th Mountain division Robert chose to go home a become a Paramedic for the city of Boston. He then embarked on a 27 year long career in the Automotive industry taking him to Utah and settling finally in Saratoga Springs where he met Rudy and Robyn Chavez after seeing a flyer in a local cookie shop. The rest is current history as he and his wife Melissa became business partners with R&R Tactical in late 2022. Robert is the current 1st Vice Commander of our local American Legion Post 111 and is active in the American Legion Riders Chapter 111. He is a certified USCCA Instructor for firearms training and is a Utah Certified Concealed Carry Instructor.
Melissa, also our Director of Marketing & Member Engagement, hails from Houston, TX. She comes to Utah after spending 29 years in next door Colorado. With a 30 year career in Mass Fullfillment Marketing and Automotive Specific Marketing she brings a unique perspective to our current business operations. She is a certfied USCCA instructor and has a passion specifically for working with Women of all ages. Melissa is an active member of our local American Legion Auxiliary Post 111 and a member of the American Legion Off Road Riders Chapter 111.
Melissa and Robert have two children, Chaelor and Braeden.
Chaelor is a Graduate of Utah State University and a current High School English teacher.
Braeden is currently serving our Country as a Master at Arms in the U.S. Navy.

Greg Spencer - Partner
My name is Greg Spencer and I was born in Maryland. I served in the US Army, both active duty and reserves, for 30 years. I was overseas to Korea, Honduras, Bosnia, Kuwait and Afghanistan twice. During that time, I was also an Army civilian in Washington, DC for 13 years, where I planned ceremonial and special events, such as the Presidential Inauguration and Memorial Day Observance at Arlington Cemetery. I moved to Utah 4 years ago and currently live in Saratoga Springs with my wife, Erica and two fat, angry orange cats.
Kyle Howell - Director of Operations
Kyle is a lifetime resident of Utah. Born in Sandy and graduating from Skyline high school he grew up in the great outdoors our state provides. After high school Kyle joined the United States Marine Corps and served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Upon leaving the service Kyle came back home to Utah and met his lovely wife Megan. Together they have two wonderful children and are part of our Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain communities. Along with being the associate director here at R&R Kyle volunteers his time for many local events and is active in our American Legion Post 111.
When Kyle is not here at the shop he enjoys all types of shooting sports, barbequeing with his friends and spending time camping with his family.
Come say hello to Kyle when you can, he is the big tall jar head looking one!
Jimmy Oaks - Sales Manager
My given name is James, but I go by Jimmy or Jim. I was born and raised in Price, Utah. I grew up in the outdoors with my family. We loved to go target shooting, hunting, fishing, and camping. This is where my love of the outdoors came from as well as my love for firearms and shooting sports. I was taught to shoot at a young age by starting out with a bolt action 22.
As an adult I still love to go target shooting, hunting, fishing, and camping when I can. I have two kids that I am teaching them about the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and firearms when I can.

David Trinnaman - Information Technology & Online Sales Manager
David Trinnaman is from Pleasant Grove, Utah. Grew up with a love for the outdoors doing a variety of activities from family campouts, fishing trips to the Green River, Hunting trips with extended family, motorcycle riding all over Utah’s desert and mountain trails to going up to his grandpa’s gold claim and learning to pan for gold.
He Learned to shoot at a young age from his father and spent many days helping to reload as they would work out the best loads for their rifles.
David has 20+ year’s experience in the software industry from support, customer service and technical operations in both the healthcare and automotive industries.
David still enjoys getting out and going 4wheeling and spending time with family and friends.
Amanda Black - Range & Training Program Manager
Amanda Black is a native of Salt Lake and joined the Army straight out of high school where she served nine years on active duty with the Military Police Corps. During this time, she completed two combat tours (OIF/OEF), conducted law enforcement duties at Ft. Lewis, Washington and served three years as a Drill Sergeant at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.
After Army life Amanda moved back home, married and bought a house in her hometown. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing but after a short time as a nurse, she felt drawn back to the tactical space. For the past several years Amanda has built her experience in the realm of retail, specializing in both tactical clothing and firearm sales.
Amanda is passionate about leading, training and helping people accomplish their goals. She currently serves as the Range and Training Manager at R&R Tactical.
Jim Haws - Instructor
Jim is a training professional is his day job, and USCCA instructor in his off hours for R&R Tactical. What he enjoys most about his position at R&R is the information he is able to present helps others feels a sense of freedom, self-confidence and personal power.
Jim has lived most of his life here in Utah. He has a beautiful wife Katherine, three children and two grand children. The legacy he hopes to leave them with, and of all people he interacts with, is that they know there own self worth, have found reason to smile in his presence and understand how much he really loves tacos.
Roger Fenner - Instructor
Roger Fenner, born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, has a distinguished and varied career in both military and civilian sectors. He began his service in the United States Marine Corps in 1985 as a tank crewman, where he honed his skills and leadership until the end of his active duty in 1992. Demonstrating his continued commitment to serving his country, Roger joined the Utah National Guard in 2013. Initially serving as a military police officer, he later transitioned to become a Warrant Officer in the Signal Corps, a role in which he continues to serve with dedication.
Beyond his military career, Roger is passionate about firearms education and safety. In 2022, he achieved his certification as a USCCA Instructor. Since then, he has been actively teaching new shooters, sharing his extensive knowledge and expertise on both pistol and AR platform rifles. Roger's commitment to education and safety in firearms reflects his broader dedication to service and community."

I was raised in the small town of Oakley, Utah. I found any excuse to be outdoors to play sports, or any recreational activity you can think of! I was put to work as a young boy on my grandfather’s farm, and there I was taught the discipline and hard work that I continue to put into my personal and work life today.
I love travelling and learning about other cultures. It helped me realize that I want to work with people. As a personal trainer from 2014-2015, I found a passion in helping others obtain their goals. From there, I started my real estate career in property management in March 2015. I was fortunate enough to be recognized with the “Excellence Award” my first year of employment for my hard work, dedication, and commitment. I developed and mastered the skills necessary to find the right home for others and/or their family. I transitioned into residential real estate because I love helping people sell their homes, and find the dream home that they have always wanted.
Rick Sager - Instructor
My name is Rick Sager. I’m a husband and father and pro 2A enthusiast. I grew up in Idaho and moved to Saratoga Springs Utah in 2019.
Firearms and shooting sports are a real passion of mine, and I spend a lot of my free time training and competing in multi gun competitions whenever I can.
I am excited to join the team here at R&R Tactical because of their constant support for the community.

Glen Parshall - Operations Specialists
Glen Parshall left a successful career in aerospace research to pursue a lifelong interest in coins. He moved back to Las Vegas to manage a coin and jewelry business and later opened his first gun shop where he became deeply involved in guns since. He met his wife, Melinda, at his second gun shop while working together. They have been a team ever sense.
Together they managed the gun department for what is now known as Pawn Stars and became known as some of the best gun dealers in Vegas. Glen also appeared on the History Channel which led to job offers across the country, which is what let them to Glen’s native state of Utah.
He is known in Utah for his knowledge and is sought after by many. Glen has been involved in most aspects of the firearms industry. He has been/still is a dealer and gunsmith. He has been an instructor and advisor to many pawn brokers, gun powder companies, and Cerakote companies. He has hosted talk shows, done media appearances and wrote several published articles.
Glen is also known as the Gun Santa due to both the natural white beard and the fact that he is amazing at finding firearms for customers. But it doesn’t end there. He has done Santa appearances every year for over 35 years, primarily for charity and groups. He has a heart of gold.
He has a beautiful family of 4 children and 5 grandchildren. All whom he is very proud of.
